Sugar has recently completed its first annual release roll-up for on-premise customers since the new release schedule from Fall ’17 onwards.
One of the more notable changes is the New Look & Feel
“A brand new look for Sugar – We are pleased to introduce a visual restyling of the user interface that will meet the expectations of the modern workforce. SugarCRM has strong belief that the high-quality and efficient experience that consumers enjoy on their phones, tablets and laptops needs to replace the legacy designs of enterprise applications. For years, we’ve focused our energy and expertise to bridge that gap through our commitment to delivering the most intuitive and beautiful CRM application in the marketplace, and we’re very pleased to present the next big step in the user experience of Sugar.” - Andrew Staples
The new Product Catalog Dashlet
The new Product Catalog Dashlet is available in the intelligence pane on the quote create page, and on the intelligence pane on quotes record view. It aims to provide a simplified view of all your available products, enabling an easy method of adding products to a quote without having to leave the page. It puts important data right at your fingertips, making it easier than ever before to create and edit quotes in Sugar.
Drill Through Charts
Drill Through Charts allow you to click into a specific segment of the chart, and see all the relevant data to that selection, removing the need to build a separate report. From the list view, you can then make use of features such as mass updates, in-line editing etc. This provides a quick and visually appealing way of accessing the data within a report or chart, with less navigation effort required.
New Emails Module
The much awaited new emails module, built from Sidecar framework, has finally arrived! You now have the capability to filter, tag, and preview all from a customisable list view. This replaces the previous email client.
GDPR - Data Protection Features
“Recording Data Subject Requests – In Sugar 8.0, we are adding a new Data Privacy module. This module is sort of a command center where Sugar users can manage certain requests by customers related to data privacy. The module will also serve as a record of actions taken to address those requests.
This Data Privacy module will be configurable just like any other module. The module will be related to the leads, contacts and targets modules out-of-the-box, it can also be related to all other (including custom created) modules." - Andrew Staples
End of Life
End of Life (EOL) for version 7.9.x is 15th November 2018, with extended support predicted to be available until 15th November 2019.
